Edge of Home

Edge of home is a virtual reality astronaut space station maintenance simulation built in partnership with the NASA, BrandXR and the Kennedy Space station. In Edge of Home you can see the International Space Station like an astronaut. Take part in an extravehicular activity walk around the outside of the ISS while learning facts and figures about each module. This application was initially built as a demonstration for tour guests that we’re visiting the Kennedy Space Center. It was targeted for mobile VR devices such as google cardboard and Google Dreams. We later ported the application to fit the Oculus Quest and Oculus Go. We also added and AR application to the device that made it so users could use Edge of Home with mixed reality.

"The immersive atmosphere is really something we’re striving for here at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. We want our guests to feel space, not just come and see it. Virtual reality makes that experience come alive."
